The Construction Project Manager (CPM) will be responsible for planning and overseeing the site preparation, construction, and budget of new locations and remodels. The CPM will work closely with the Chief Development Officer, Director of Architecture, Chuze construction team, and oversee general contractors to ensure high quality work, and projects are finished efficiently and on schedule.
This position requires 5x a week in-office
Duties & Responsibilities (Includes but is not limited to):
- Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer (CDO), Director of Architecture (DOA) and the Chuze construction team on each location and have knowledge of job start dates
- Oversee and direct Construction Projects from site preparation/demolition to completion and Analyze, manage, and mitigate missed deadline risks
- Manage General Contractors and owner sub-contractors
- Prepare and manage budget per location
- Ensure quality construction standards by staying abreast of updated and emerging construction regulations while ensuring quality construction standards.
- Ensure on-site personnel are complying with building and safety regulations
- Initial Site Surveys in conjunction with CDO
- Bid jobs to General Contractors and select GC
- Finalize budget (comparing to original pro forma prepared by CDO) and communicate to the finance department in conjunction with DOA and CDO.
- Work with General Contractor on the schedule for each location
- Meet with the construction team and GC to kick off each project and present and review plans and playbooks. Review plans and clarify items with Architects and Engineers.
- Strategize with the Construction Team and GC on each city/county, set up meetings with inspectors prior to start date to determine expectations and identify issues prior to beginning the job.
- Oversee General Contractor's staging, while working with the Chuze team to ensure site compliance with lease terms.
- Visit each location at least 1 time per week (or more depending on job stage).
- Ensure General Contractor's and owner subcontractors are complying with owner mandated processes and reporting. (Daily note capture, weekly field report, 2-week look forward report).
- Work with the construction team to ensure project management software is updated.
- Communicate any issues regarding plan and engineering items to the DOA and CDO (they will update the lead architect).
- Communicate all changes to the construction playbook to the construction team for updating current and future jobs.
- Ensure General Contractor's follow processes by referencing playbooks and other design documents, specs, and instructions.
- Process and approve change orders. Communicate updated numbers to the finance department.
- Request checks for plans and other fees as needed from the finance department in a timely manner.
- Assist General Contractor with city issues and inspectors as needed per job
- Ensure General Contractor's communicate with the construction team on store opening dates(preparing for stocking, deliveries, installations, and final preparation prior to opening).
- Ensure General Contractor closes out job with Certificate of Occupancy, final punch lists, final billing, lien releases etc.
- Meet with the GC and the construction team on lessons learned/rewind meetings. Ensure that all notes, lessons learned, and updates are communicated to the Construction team for dissemination to inside resources and outside vendors.

Ideally you will have:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 2-4 years of professional experience in Construction Management required
- Previous new and remodel construction management experience for multiple projects in multiple states is preferred
- Prior experience in fitness facility construction is preferred
