In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience GS-06: Specialized Experience GS-06: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1.) Reviewing and maintaining reports/documents accurate at all times, such as office supplies, property records, personnel actions, and other duties as applicable; AND 2.) Making travel arraignments to include preparing and submitting travel vouchers and reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service of GS-05.
OR
Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as such as an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university with classes majoring in Business Administration, Human Resources, Office Administration, or related to the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
Specialized Experience GS-05: Specialized Experience GS-05: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1.) Assisting in several administrative functions such as, screening phone calls, using a computer system to draft correspondence, obtaining supplies and/or materials needed for and office/organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service of GS-04.
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.

Position may be filled as a term appointment NTE 13 months, if the candidate is not a permanent Army employee. Term appointments may be extended up to a maximum of six (6) years, and may be made permanent without further competition. With DoD approval, term appointments may be extended beyond six (6) years, but not more than eight (8) years.
Current permanent Federal Employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a TERM appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights to a permanent position.
Education: FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
