Position Overview
Starting Salary Range is $35,651 -$40,113. The initial salary offer is commensurate with education and related work experience.
The Administrative Specialist, Student Resource & Advocacy Center & Student Engagement will perform all clerical and office management functions for the SRAC and Student Engagement, aimed at creating the ideal student experience. This is a full-time position that will report directly to the SRAC Manger.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of front office operations including, but not limited to: greeting visitors, managing phone calls and correspondence (e.g., e-mail, letters, packages, etc.), scheduling meetings, and maintaining calendar of events.Perform clerical and office management tasks, such as: typing, filing, answering the phone, general office record keeping, and other related duties as required.Organize and participate in SRAC and Student Engagement departmental events as needed. This often includes ordering and setting up rooms with food and decorations, managing sign in sheets, and greeting individuals as they arrive.Prepare for meetings: setup, media, and coordinate facility reservations for departmental event needs.Enter and follow through on purchase requests and credit card consolidations consistently and efficiently.Maintain departmental documents in an organized and efficient manner.Maintain departmental dashboard and student outreach in an organized and efficient manner.Prepare budget documents and maintain financial records for department budgets.Maintain supplies for SRAC and Student Engagement areas of operation.Assist students with office services inquiries, access, and questions pertaining to their MyLC accounts, scheduling, and other office and campus resources.Ensure confidentiality of participant records.Maintain the office area in a fashion which exhibits a professional atmosphere.Maintain inventory or SRAC transportation assistance including but not limited to gas cards and bus passes.Additional Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with aspects of service delivery events and programming held by the SRAC and Student Engagement Departments.Oversee hiring and supervision of SRAC student workersParticipate in professional activities and training as required.Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)Six (6) months of related work experienceMust be proficient in composition, spelling, and proofreadingMust be friendly, outgoing, and energetic, along with exceptional customer service abilitiesMust be willing and available to work flexible hours, including evenings and some weekends as neededMust be dependable and demonstrate initiativeExceptional computer skills including expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and AccessExcellent interpersonal skills coupled with superb skills in oral and written communication, planning, and organizationSolid organizational, time management, and filing skillsDetail oriented, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, plus meet deadlinesFlexible, organized, and creative with the ability to switch gears and move from one task to another with frequent interruptions from a busy phone and constant office visitorsCreativity to produce publications and PowerPoint presentationsPreferred:
- Associate's (or higher) degree or successful completion of sixty (60) college credit hours
- Experience with PeopleSoft
