How will you make an impact in this role?
The Analytics, Investment & Marketing enablement (AIM) team – is the analytical engine that enables the Global Commercial Services (GCS) card business. The team drives Profitable Growth in Acquisitions through Data, Analytics, AI powered Targeting & Personalization Capabilities.
This analyst role, based out of New York, part of AIM team would be responsible for Global & Large market sales analytics. The analyst will be responsible for performing strategic analyses, synthesizing conclusions, and communicating recommendations to partners aimed at driving revenue through prospect acquisitions. The position is part of a highly collaborative environment, interacting with and influencing partners across the Global Commercial Service’s business at American Express.
A very important focus for the role shall be quantitatively determining the value, deriving insights, and then assuring the insights are leveraged to create positive impact that cause a meaningful difference to the business. This role will support the team and would serve as a key interface between various stakeholders – the functional channel owners, the business partners and end-users of analytical solutions and technology partners.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Synthesizing Global & Large ringfence list as per the quarterly process. Incorporate feedback and make the process more robust
- Develop actionable data-driven insights through a deep understanding of the business and its data
- Enable decision making across channels and markets by exploring big data and advanced analytics techniques which includes creating segmentation logic for prioritization of leads and lead intelligence arbitration.
- Support and enable the GCS partners with actionable, insightful analytical solutions to help the leadership team evaluate and drive business performance.
- Exceptional execution skills – be able to resolve issues, identify opportunities, and define success metrics and make things happen.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment.
- Willingness to challenge the status quo; breakthrough thinking to generate insights, alternatives, and opportunities for business success.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or Economics) is required.
- 1+ yrs of experience in data analytics using programming languages such as SQL or Python.
- Strong analytical/conceptual thinking acumen to solve unstructured and complex business problems and articulate key findings to senior leaders/stakeholders in a succinct and concise manner
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment, with a strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or Economics) is preferred.
- Experience with Big Data programming Languages (Hive, Spark) is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of statistical techniques like hypothesis testing, regression, knn, ttest, chi-square test
Salary Range: $60,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
