This position is located in Titles and Registration, STAR, Headquarters, Blythewood, S.C.
Responsibilities of a Titles & Registration Specialist II
Processes transactions using Phoenix to include, but not limited to, de-tiling mobile homes, salvage, notice of vehicle sold and lien releases. Uses the DMV Phoenix system to enter, retrieve, update and provide data for customers and courts.
Respond daily to routine inquiries from customers by mail and through various methods of communication to include telephone, email, or phone.
Advises customers on appropriate actions for payment, services and required documentation for transaction processing. Resolves customer's problems and inquiries through record research.
Maintain appropriate tracking system to include tracked and untracked mail, customer inquiries and rejection letters, reconcile transaction reports and maintain accurate cash drawer.
Review documents for accuracy and compliance. Prepares documents for scanning.
Manages and maintains transaction payments via cash, credit card, check or money order. Maintains records of products and documentation that are issued and destroyed per SCDMV policy.
Performs other related duties as requested by manager, such as but not limited to IRP/IFTA, LiveScan and International Customer transactions.
Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma.
Additional Requirements
Ability to learn and explain policy and procedures to DMV customers.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Proficient in basic computer skills.
Ability to exercise discretion in interpreting and applying office practices, policies, and procedures.
Works under general supervision after a period of training. Must display professional proficiency in all areas of the job.
May be required to work extended hours outside of the normal scheduled work week.
Must be able to lift 10-15 lbs. The work requires sitting for prolonged periods of time and significant time spent at a computer terminal.
Agency Preferred
A high school diploma and two (2) years related job experience.
