Positions are available within several departments within the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Headquarters in Blythewood, SC.

Common responsibilities of some administrative tasks:
Job duties vary within the department and by the position. Please indicate the area for which you are applying by completing the supplemental questions in the job posting.
  • Create, maintain, and enter information into databases or software programs.
  • Answer telephones to direct calls or provide information.
  • Respond to and resolve administrative inquiries and questions.
  • Perform other general clerical and secretarial duties as requested, which may include recordkeeping, maintaining office supplies and coordinating equipment maintenance, and handling packages and correspondence.
  • Review files, records, and other documents to obtain information to respond to requests.
  • Maintain files and filing systems in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional Requirements
Ability to learn and explain policy and procedures to DMV customers.
•Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
•Proficient in basic computer skills.
•Ability to exercise discretion in interpreting and applying office practices, policies and procedures.
•Works in a general office environment.
•May be required to work extended hours outside of the normal scheduled work week.
•Must be able to lift 10-15 lbs.
•The work requires sitting for prolonged periods of time and significant time spent at a computer terminal.
