Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse/Health Department Manager, the Administrative Manager will provide direction and supervision to the administrative support staff of the Fairfield and Lancaster County Sites. The Manager will coordinate staffing in conjunction with Lancaster Administrative manager, for continuity of staffing and training as the two (2) counties are merged. Areas of support are Preventive Health (PH), Immunization (IZ), Medical Records, and the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Division.
In this role the Manager will, collaborate with all disciplines and administration to assure the effectiveness and efficiency in the provision of services are provided in a culturally competent and customer-focused environment.
-Ensure staff comply with the program and agency guidelines for Preventive Health, Immunization and other relevant programs as they arise.
-Meet, interview, and direct public health clients in accordance with program policies.
-Process information, complete medical records and enter information into an applicable electronic application; ensure compliance with agency guidelines for billing, medical records, Employee Health Record (EHR) and other documentation.
-Answer inbound telephone calls to assist with scheduling appointments as needed.
-Establish and provide support to Medical Records, Preventive Health, and Immunizations.
- Able to stand for periods of times and lift up to thirty (30) pounds.
Management/Training:
-Supervise and instruct team members to ensure agency and program policies are followed by consulting staff on administrative policies and procedures.
-Review and approve employees' time and leave request(s) in the South Carolina Enterprise Information System (SCEIS).-Maintain audit and training records, as well as Employee Performance Management System (EPMS) for individual staff annually. This provide regular feedback and appraisal of performance and documents feedback and the overall appraisal.
Emergency Preparedness:
-In accordance with the State's Disaster Plan, which includes hazardous weather, DHEC employees may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster.
State Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services or a bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required work experience.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

A bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of administrative supervisory experience; or associate's degree in a related field and four years of relevant administrative experience, two (2) of which are supervisory experience; or High School or a General Education Diploma (GED) and six (6) years of relevant administrative experience, two (2) of which are supervisory experience.
Agency experience and proven ability may be substituted for supervisory experience.
Knowledge in healthcare operations and medical terminology; knowledge in health information management, billing, and electronic health records. Training in data privacy and security (HIPAA); bilingual in Spanish/English.
