Job Description
Stillwater Sciences is seeking a highly-motivated individual to join our diverse staff and assist with various office activities in our Davis office. The position is available immediately. Applicants should be available to work 10–15 hours per week, with the possibility of slightly increased hours during summer months. Work hours are flexible to fit with class schedules. The successful applicant will be provided with experience related to many facets of a small office as it relates to the environmental consulting business, from business development and administration to analysis and reporting of data, with the potential to support field studies, as class schedules permit.
Desired Skills and Attributes:
- Some coursework completed towards a college degree
- Experience in, or desire to work in, an office setting
- Highly developed organizational skills, attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
- Flexibility and enthusiasm for tasks, no matter what size
- Ability to work independently
- Willingness to be proactive, initiate tasks that need to get done, and ask for clarification when the desired outcome is unclear
- Computer skills with word processing and spreadsheet software
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
- Valid driver’s license in good standing
Responsibilities:
- Organization, digitization, and maintenance of technical library and office filing systems
- Word processing and editorial support
- Environmental documents/reporting support: literature reviews and summaries, report preparation and production (copying, binding, filing, shredding, mailing)
- Assistance to administrative and accounting staff
- Mailing and delivery support, minor accounting assistance, and running errands (post office, car rental company, grocery store)
- Maintenance and organization of field equipment
- Occasional project-related field work
Compensation and Application Details:
- The salary range is $17–$20/hour, depending on experience
