Description:
POSITION: English Language Arts Teacher
GRADE LEVEL: Hiring for both middle school and high school positions
LOCATION: Currently hiring at multiple locations (see openings

SALARY: $52,000-$70,000 based on years of aligned experience up to 10 years. We also offer a
relocation stipend
for anyone joining us from 75 miles or more from Denver!
STATUS: Full time school year, benefits eligible, exempt, in-person position

Responsibilities:
Our English teachers believe not just in teaching an ability to read, write and understand texts but also seek to build and nourish a deep love of reading and writing, so that our students can be experts in any field and use their expertise to tell their individual and unique stories, live their dreams, and transform their community and the world.
- Plan and deliver culturally responsive instruction to 3-5 classes a day of various lengths depending on the DSST campus and grade level
- Use data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices
- Additional duties as assigned such as supporting student recruitment, running a small group advisory class, after school tutoring, etc. See many of our possible duties

Middle School Curriculum:
Depending on the campus, students may take separate reading and writing classes, or have them combined into an English/Language Arts class. The curriculum may include, but is not limited to:
- Fiction
- Non-fiction and Informational Articles
- Poetry
- Novels
- Short Stories
High School Curriculum:
- 9th Grade: Composition, Humanities
- 10th Grade: World Literature
- 11th Grade: American Literature
- 12th Grade: Senior English Seminar
