Description / Position Overview
As the Administrative Assistant I, you will provide general secretarial, clerical, record keeping, and clerical accounting duties in support of the City Attorney's Office.

Essential Job Functions-the basic job duties an employee must be able to perform:
- Provide front desk support to the City Attorney's Office
- Responsible for a large volume of data entry
- Answer incoming calls, answer questions or direct callers to appropriate resources, and take messages in a professional and timely manner
- Provide administrative support services to City Attorney’s staff as requested
- Perform general office duties as assigned
- Create and maintain files and records
- Compile, process and track invoices
- Order office supplies and resources
- Run reports/spreadsheets for accounting and other office needs
- Maintain, track, and update attorney subscriptions
- Manage training schedules and travel arrangements
- Serve as records liaison for the City Attorney’s Office maintaining office files and archives
Knowledge of:
- Modern office technology
- Proper English usage, spelling, punctuation, and grammar
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Achieve results with very little supervision
- Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
- Strong attention to detail
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships
Successful candidates will have
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- One year of full-time clerical or related support experience
Ideal candidates will also have
- Customer service experience
- Experience working in a legal setting
- Experience working for a municipal or other government
- Experience with accounting duties
Additional Information
The City of Colorado Springs offers additional compensation depending on the position, area of assignment, and specific job assignments, including shift differential, pay differential, acting or lead, special assignment, hazard pay, longevity, cell phone allowance, uniform allowance, relocation, awards, standby, call out, compensatory time off, tuition, overtime, extra duty, incentive, holiday premium, proficiency, and vacation sell back.
