This is a 7.75 hour, 180 day position with benefits at Kamiak High School.


Hours for this position are from 7:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.


Kamiak High School is seeking a well-qualified Administrative Assistant to support Assistant Principals. More specifically, this individual will support the following key areas: staffing regarding special services paraprofessionals, coordinating standardized assessments, scheduling and communication for ASB/Leadership and activities/clubs, some clerical support for the evaluation cycle calendar management, as well as safety/security - including staff parking and facility use of non-athletic spaces. The outstanding candidate will have a passion for education, high school students, and high school life. Additionally, we seek an individual who has proven experience in thinking creatively and working efficiently, effectively and flexibly in a collaborative environment.


Rate of pay for positions:


Administrative Assistant I (6.75 hours/day): $33.84 - $39.02/hour
Office Assistant II (1 hour/day): $27.65 - $31.96/hour

JOB SUMMARY:

Perform a variety of clerical duties to assist students, staff, and parents and the general public.


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide clerical support, answer phones; respond to inquiries from staff, parents, students and general public; direct inquiries to appropriate personnel; schedule appointments; and assist with other duties as directed for the purpose of providing quality customer service.
  • Process various documents and perform functions such as process mail and respond to inquiries; prepare and mail correspondence; responsible for a variety of information record keeping i.e., fiscal and/or student records; document filing, tracking information, data entry, etc.
  • May assist with student health needs.
  • May assist with supervision and monitoring of students.
  • Assist with student recordkeeping including student registration, enrollment, attendance, placement, and data entry of student information.
  • Word process, type, copy, collate, sort, file and distribute documents to support the efficient operation of school office services.
  • Prioritize and organize tasks for the purpose of meeting deadlines, accessibility of information, and completing job duties in a timely manner.
  • Comply with district policies.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by supervisor(s) for the purpose of maintaining an organized and efficient environment.


JOB REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job.

  • Skill and ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with all individuals in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Skill and ability to follow and give written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain trust and confidentiality.
  • Ability to develop positive, amenable relationships with staff, students, and public.
  • Skill in effective organization and efficiency.
  • Skill in accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge and ability to successfully use basic math and write routine documents using correct spelling, grammar and punctuation.
  • Skill and ability with operating office equipment, which may include: telephone, computer, typewriter, calculator, copier, laminator and media equipment.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use various software programs related to job responsibilities.
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.


Education/Training:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Word process with accuracy at 40 w.p.m.


Experience Preferred:

  • Previous school district experience including knowledge of duties performed by various classifications of employees.

  • One (1) year of applicable office or clerical experience. Vocational or technical clerical training may substitute for work experience.
