This position is responsible for providing technical and administrative support to the chair, faculty, students and staff of the Department of Economics. Will cover main oce reception and provide front line general information and logistical support for department programs and events, ensuring smooth daily business operations.

Assist with processing of documentation and disseminating information, scheduling and reservations. The position reviews and revises front oce procedures and systems ensuring smooth operations. A primary responsibility of the position includes assisting the Undergraduate Program and managing course scheduling for the department.

Works closely with Chair/Undergraduate Associate Chair to plan and implement all aspects of the Economics course schedule. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be Academic Course Scheduling Assists the Department Chair and the Undergraduate Studies Associate Chair in creating department course schedules for fall, spring and summer terms by gathering data and disseminating information; meeting university deadlines for input of all data into the Student Information System; making adjustments as necessary based on student, faculty and department needs and schedule constraints. Design, development and maintenance of scheduling spreadsheets including semester schedules, TA assignments and history of courses per faculty. Assign course restrictions.

Analyze enrollment and make recommendations to meet Request Analysis report deadline. Balance Monday-Friday teaching schedules. Review of all information at multiple times throughout the scheduling timeline to ensure accurate registration information.

Coordinate with Economics Graduate Office as they decide appointments and assignments. Devise solutions to time/schedule conflicts. Notify students/faculty of final assignments.

Manage graduate student offer letters and spreadsheet for human resources service center for payroll and tuition remission. Works with the Manager of Operations and Business to determine financial budget for curriculum. Populates information in the College of Arts and Sciences spreadsheet for uncovered teaching needs.

This includes teaching plan for faculty, leaves and enrollment growth funding requests. Acts as FCQ liaison and serves as the department course catalog coordinator. Departmental Seminar Series Manage and coordinate Departmental seminar series in cooperation with faculty sponsors to bring out- of- town visitors and job candidates to present a seminar.

This involves travel guidelines and arrangements and lodging accommodations as well as additional travel details. Organize, schedule and compile lists of seminars; design and distribute schedule, email announcements, authorize and process seminar expenses. Coordinate travel and accommodations for visitors.

This process involves organizing and processing travel reimbursements. Assisting Undergraduate Program Serves as the main point of contact for students and faculty with questions about undergraduate courses and processes including drop/add, independent study, grade changes, incomplete, internship, etc. Processes special action and change of record forms.

Coordinates and helps to plan new student activities and events related to the undergraduate major in Economics. Hires undergraduate students for the department and monitor the allocated budget and approve the time-sheet. Supports communication with undergraduate students and ensures that communication is effective and done in a timely manner.

Administrative and Operational Support Responsible for overseeing that the oce is open during regular university hours and closed for end of day. Serves as lead worker for student assistants, and together provides reception and front-line clerical support for the Economics main oce. Provides faculty members, students and visitors general information, answer calls and distributes the department mail.

Manages the department's electronic ling system and maintains faculty and student mailboxes. Provides and manages print/copy/scan/shred services for faculty and graduate students. Serves as information technology liaison for department, distributing updates, collaborating with the Oce of Information Technology for clarication and support, and troubleshooting department computer related problems as needed.

Use the CU Marketplace online procurement system to purchase oce supplies, furniture and computers. Point person to make travel reservations for visiting speakers, graduate recruiting, book conferences, etc. Serves as key liaison and manages key distribution for all Economics oces.

Serves as departmental parking and telecom liaison. Participates in planning and implementation of projects that require logistical support, i.e. maintenance and repair, surplus property removal, etc.

Event Operations Support Plans, budgets, and coordinates the department's commencement ceremonies along with Oce Manager. Responsible for all purchasing, procurement, and accounts payable transactions including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and expense and travel reimbursements. Other than associated with graduate program, orders catering and manages logistics for departmental events.

Maintains the room scheduling calendars for daily events in the conference rooms and other venues as needed for graduate classes, faculty meetings, job talks, undergraduate student activities such as honors defenses, and club meetings. Other Support Support the Office Manager and Chair/Associate Chairs as needed. What You Should Know Hybrid work schedule offered after initial training period.

Be Boulder. What We Require Must be a Colorado resident to apply. Three years of experience in an occupational field related to work assigned to the position.

Appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. What You Will Need Planning, problem solving and organizational skills. Proficient computer knowledge and skills with Adobe Acrobat and MS Office applications.

Ability to work independently and with responsibility for initiating and completing tasks. Ability to communicate efficiently both orally and in writing, with a variety of professionals, administrators and students. Attention to detail.

Ability to work effectively in a team and within other collaborative work situations. Ability to revise operating processes to improve efficiency. What We Would Like You to Have Associate degree or higher.
