Accounts Payable Specialist - Temporary - Hybrid

We currently have an opening for a TemporaryAccounts Payable Specialist to join our Home Office in Winter Park, FL. The Accounts Payable Specialist completes payments and reviews expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices and accounts. This Position is Hybrid.

Overview & Responsibilities:

• Ensures timely and accurate payment of invoices and employee expense reports, and balances resources to meet changes in workload demands
• Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks/ACHs; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; ensuring credit is received for outstanding memos
• Ensures proper approval is received and coding of invoices is reviewed for possible errors and verification, or correction is made prior to posting
• Balances corporate AP and other amounts as needed to the general ledger
• Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies including but not limited to maintenance of W9’s, and preparation of 1099s
• Maintains vendor list by verifying appropriate documentation attached from subsidiaries in requests to add vendors
• Prepares monthly close and reconciles all corporate A/P related accounts on a timely basis at month end, including obtaining proper coding from subsidiaries for some payments made at the corporate level
• Reviews aging report to determine Days Payable Outstanding (DPO) trends and appropriate pursuit of overpaid accounts
• Verifies accuracy of vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
• Assists in special projects as needed
• Maintains historical records by scanning and/or filing documents
• Supports field locations in navigating the A/P system- including entering vouchers, processing check cycles, and other projects as needed
• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
• Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Associates degree in a related field preferred
• Minimum three years of experience in Accounts Payable or a related field
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment and flexibility to work hours needed to meet deadlines is critical for this position
• Must be able to work in a team, recognize problems and offer potential solutions
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
