Accounts Payable Specialist - High Volume

Our client base includes international companies in the industrial, production, refining, mining, explosive, military, government, and insurance sectors.

BakerRisk® is seeking an immediate full-time Accounts Payable Specialist in our San Antonio, Texas corporate office. The candidate must be physically present in the job location, San Antonio, Texas.

Independently and effectively performs a variety of standardized accounting tasks that have a clear and specified objective regarding processing vendors payables. Must be able to develop and maintain relationships with vendors, process all vouchers/payments, and address all other vendor issues that arise for the company and its four subsidiaries. Must be able to meet strict deadlines for financial monthly closing cycle, while maintaining organized and accurate records.

The ability to handle multiple tasks proficiently and professionally will be very important for this position. Operates independently for routine tasks while being capable of determining what issues require supervisory attention. Understands, gains knowledge and functions within guidelines set by the interests for the accounting group of tasks for the benefit of the company.

Job Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payables will include coding, approvals, and data entry of vendor invoices with reconciliations for cash flow and payment processing. Weekly reporting on activities will be required.
• Lease and Capital Assets Management will include testing of expenditures for fitting categories, consulting with purchasing parties, coding, data entry and reconciliations for relevant items. Reporting to processors and ensuring accuracy upon returned documents received and monthly reconciliations will be required.
• Other Duties and Responsibilities will include assisting in other areas such as tracking bank notes and interest payable activity, EOM financial close support, GST/VAT ER prep and submission, audit support, other duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities (Required):

• High School Diploma with at least 4 years of experience of handling vendor payments, and lease and asset management
• Full-time availability with some overtime, as needed.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Strong accounting, grammar and math skills are required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly organized, precise attention to detail, strong data entry and highly accurate in processes.
• Execute with a great sense of urgency, able to meet structured deadlines, work closely with team as needed, and accept full responsibility for job duties.
