Accounts Payable Specialist

Position: Accounts Payable Specialist

Description: We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist who will have the opportunity to work with vendors to ensure timely payment in order to minimize past due payables as well as to collaborate with vendors, the financial department and other and other teams to identify and resolve issues preventing payment. The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for entering invoices, matching invoices with payment and making collection phone calls. This position includes being able to multi-task and balance workload.

· Manage Accounts Payable using accounting software and other programs

· Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors

· Ensure bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures

· Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges

· Manage invoice workflow process

· Manage credit card transactions

· Provide solutions for cash disbursements process

· Assist the finance department with special projects including audit requests and budgetary items

· Maintain a positive and friendly demeanor when engaging vendors on the phone or in person

Basic Qualifications:

· Competency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel and other accounting tools

· Experience in accounting or similar role

· Experience with expense classification

· Basic data entry skills

· Sound listening and communication skills

· Must be dependable, reliable, and trustworthy

· College level accounting courses preferred but not required
