Overview of the Role
- We are looking for a AP/Billing Specialist to help us achieve our financial goals, by overseeing the process of invoices, managing payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. The primary focus of the role is to ensure that financial transactions are conducted efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Hybrid; must be local to Chicago, IL, in office 3 days a week

What You'll do at C.A. Fortune
- Generate and issue invoices to customers based on sales and service transactions
- Accuracy in invoice details
- Review sales orders and contracts to determine appropriate billing methods and terms
- Provide information to customers regarding payment methods and address any concerns
- Record and process incoming payments - checks, credit card payments, & electronic transfers
- Reconcile payments with invoices and update the accounting system accordingly
- Generate and maintain accurate aging reports by divisions
- Reconcile accounts payable sub-ledger with general ledger accounts regularly
- Code invoices to the appropriate accounts & cost centers
- Obtain approvals for invoice payments from relevant departments or management
- Ensure compliance with company policies
- Respond to inquiries from vendors regarding payment status and resolve any discrepancies

- Resolve discrepancies
- Assist in the month-end closing process
- Generate financial reports & summaries
- Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to provide financial expertise
- Analyze reports and financial statements for discrepancies
- Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts
What You Should Bring to the Table
- 1-3 years of accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Proficiency in accounting software Sage Intacct, SAP Concur, & advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
