Summary
An Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk plays a crucial role in the financial operations of a company by managing the outgoing funds. This role will also handle any additional responsibilities assigned by their supervisors as needed.
Accounts Payable Responsibilities:
- Invoice Processing: Receive and verify invoices for goods and services.
- Payment Authorization: Obtain necessary approvals for invoice payments.
- Payment Processing: Prepare and process payments to vendors via checks, electronic transfers, or other methods.
- Expense Reports: Review and process employee expense reports.
- Vendor Communication: Communicate with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies and payment-related issues.
- Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all transactions related to Accounts Payable.
General Responsibilities:
- Data Entry: Accurately enter financial transactions into accounting software.
- Reporting: Generate and analyze financial reports related to AR and AP.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and relevant regulations.
- Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as finance and procurement, to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
Position Requirements
· Standard work week: Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
· May need to work weekends if business needs require
· Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function
· Position requires extended hours when business need requires.
Physical & Cognitive Requirements
· Able to lift up to 20lbs. occasionally
· Must be able to traverse in all weather conditions and work in extreme temperatures
· Position requires the ability to stand, squat, & reach
· Must be able to stand and walk continuously through shift
· Activities like typing and using a computer mouse can involve repetitive motions
· Crouch, kneel, bend, or stand for long periods of time
· Must be able to sit at a desk for 8 plus hours per day
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college education may be preferred.
- Minimum 2 years’ accounting experience as an AP Clerk or in a related role.
- Accuracy and attention to detail are crucial in handling financial transactions.
- Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.

- Familiarity with office equipment, such as printers and fax machines.

Compensation & Benefits
Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. The Company reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
