- Receive, distribute, and process incoming Accounts Payable invoices and related documents for approval, accurately and timely
- Responsible for recording of invoices according to its terms (including based on payment method) and accurate coding of invoices
- Identify and resolve any discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices
- Review, verify, and follow up on vendor statements as assigned; research and reconcile vendor account as needed
- Support establishment of new vendors in accordance with company policies; maintain vendor master including maintaining 1099 vendor records for accuracy and up to date W9s for tax reporting
- Respond to requests and inquiries working with the AP Manager (i.e. to withhold vendor payments, W-9, 1099 and others, etc.)
- Assure necessary payment support is obtained prior to payment (such as invoices, purchase orders, etc.) and maintained for audit and research
- Support timely and accurate AP closing to GL (per close schedule)
- Support the external annual audit
- Perform ad hoc tasks as needed
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2-5+ years experience in an Accounts Payable related function
- Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Outlook
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure
- Professional certification such as Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) or Certified Accounts Payable Associate (CAPA)
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field
- Experience working in Workday and Fleetio
- Waste industry experience
- Bilingual (English & Spanish)
