We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our team. The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for providing support to the accounting department by performing various clerical and administrative tasks. Education/Work Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Law Firm Accounting Experience (2-3 years required in accounting or similar)
- Basic accounting knowledge (required)
- Billing software prior experience
- Proficiency in the use of Excel
Responsibilities
- Perform conflict checks in Rippe (legal management billing system)
- Open new client files and assign client numbers in Rippe
- Close old client files in Rippe
- Assist with receptionist duties
- Data entry related to new client, matter and parties information
- Assist attorneys with collections
- Assist during the billing cycles with clerical duties (to be determined)
- Handle accounting filing
- Participate in other special accounting team projects as needed
- Cross training in other accounting areas as needed
