RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct the development and management of systems, methods, and procedures to facilitate efficient and effective warehouse and inventory control operations. Ensure all methods and procedures are properly documented.
- Develop, review, and approve new or improved administrative and clerical procedures to streamline operations and increase efficiency within the department.
- Establish, document, and communicate departmental goals and priorities. Provide directions to direct reports in the day- to-day activities of the company’s receiving, shipping, and inventory control.
- Monitor and review incoming product quality and communicate non-conformance issues with Quality Control.
- Interview and hire staff, oversee staff training.
- Direct and coordinate activities of personnel. Establish priorities, assign workloads, and review assignments.
- Establish and maintain KPIs for each position supervised.
- Research and evaluate freight carriers and other logistics elements and make recommendations.
- Develops and administers annual warehouse department budget and authorizes expenditures.
- Coordinates with finance/accounting/purchasing on matters involving freight claims, Supplier shortages and quality issues, budgeting, expenditures, inventory-carrying costs, and other issues.
- Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities are aligned with other functions such as production, sales, inventory control, and purchasing.
- Manage implementation and maintenance of new technology for inventory tracking.
- Review and develop strategies to reduce all slow moving and obsolete inventories.
What you bring to our vision:
- High school diploma is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Five (5) years of supervisor/management/Logistics/Inventory/Warehouse Operations experience is required.
- Must have a high level of competency with inventory systems management and advanced skills in spreadsheets and database experience.
- Experience utilizing ERP system is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
- Proven strong diagnostic and decision-making skills are required.
- Must be able to lift up to 50-75 pounds at a time.
- Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders.
- Proficient knowledge of warehouse procedure and policy
