Role & Responsibilities:
- Establish work procedures and standards that allow MEC to compete at the highest level of the logistics service providers in the U.S.
- Develops and maintains operational plans to include all business requirements. This includes: objectives, targets, labor hours, KPIs, action plans, and budgets consistent with goals set by management.
- Meet financial objectives for the facility.
- Thorough experience on WMS; utilizing full functionality including RF.
- Knowledge of WMS to drive efficiency.
- TMS experience to include management of inbound and outbound loads, transload operations, and KPI management.
- Ensures all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
- Coordinates activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum productivity and utilization of human resources, IT, and equipment.
- Reviews productivity and operating reports.
- Directs the resolution of operational and customer service problems to ensure minimum costs and the prevention of operational delays.
- Management of staff, including performance, recruiting, onboarding, training & development, and employee-relations.
- Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Determines responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
- Maintain a clean and organized facility that is “tour ready" at all times.
- Work closely with customers to develop the business opportunities and relationships.
- Monitor and analyze the financial performance of the logistics and distribution business.
- Establish rules and guidelines for MEC, U.S.’s logistics activities.
- Negotiate rates and contracts with service providers for drayage into the warehouse, recoveries from airport, distribution via LTL, forklift leases, temp agencies, to name a few.
- Ensure compliance with rules and laws relating to U.S. warehousing and distribution regulations (CTPAT, OSHA, etc.).
- Ensure safety standards in MEC’s logistics facilities.
- Submit timely management reports.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in logistics, business administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in management and operations.
- Excellent organization, analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to think creatively and strategically to solve complex problems.
- Ability to work effectively in a multitasking environment and work constructively under pressure.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, delegate to appropriate staff, and meet specific goals and deadlines.
- Candidate must be self-motivated, customer-service oriented, and eager to ensure the success of the team.
- Ability to function independently, with minimal supervision.
