The Transportation Administrator Direct Ship oversees the movement of UA product between UA and our wholesale and liquidation customers. This role is responsible for ensuring over $125M in monthly revenue ships on-time. Developing, building, and maintaining key relationships with UA customers, UA commercial sales and support teams and internal UA groups is key to ensuring our customers get their product in full and when they expect it.
- Collaborate with UA customers and sales demand team to forecast expected volumes by DH and work with DH leadership to build weekly pick-up schedule.
- Send weekly forecasts to top accounts and identify potential capacity issues proactively, work to mitigate risk by level loading high volume weeks
- Provide visibility to wholesale partners by submitting key PO information into customer's transportation management system. Monitor system for communication back from customers and carriers
- Partner with customers transportation providers and UA distribution center teams to schedule pick-ups based on availability and start ship dates
- Identify and communicate any risk within processing of orders at the DH and update carriers and customers to any changes to scheduling
- Ensure compliance with all customer requirements around routing and shipping and that freight is picked up in full and on-time. Communicate carrier issues impacting on-time pick-ups and work with customer and carrier on solutions.
- Ability to lead calls and collaborate with cross-functional external and internal partners to drive results (on-time performance, compliance, utilization, and cost)
- Support UA compliance team in researching chargebacks related to routing and shipping (PO's shipped outside window, detention charges, shortages, non-routed POs)
- Proactively identify PO's that are outside ship windows and work with account services to reduce delays in shipping
- Monitor Direct Ship process from inbound arrival dates, to put away and outbound shipping at RDH and for intact shipments going straight from port to customer
- Identify and select transportation carriers that provide value and service to UA who will handle lanes between UA RDH and UA customers DCs. Evaluate carriers on an on-going basis and make changes as needed.
- Communicate any revenue risk to UA monthly and quarterly targets as it relates to POs, carrier delays, capacity, etc.

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- 6 months warehouse or transportation experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
The essential functions of the job are usually performed indoors and may rarely be performed outdoors, including during both hot and cold weather. Work performed will be near or involving moving mechanical equipment. Work may be performed at heights of up to 50 feet.
- Frequent or continuous sitting and/or standing, lifting, walking and bending.
- May frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds overhead.
- Vision abilities depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Able to withstand temperatures in a typical warehouse environment.
