OVERVIEW
The Volunteer Coordinator supports the successful resettlement and integration of vulnerable groups of recently arrived refugees and immigrants. They will oversee the coordination of volunteers with specific tasks and events. The Coordinator will be responsible for the volunteer application process and monitor, maintain, and track volunteer hours and in-kind donations. This position also works closely with staff members and externals partners to ensure clients access needed services. This position reports to Field Office Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Expand and strengthen the engagement of local community groups, faith-based organizations, and businesses in the welcoming and integration of refugees;
- Develop an engaging presentation to share on the resettlement program and its benefits for refugees and immigrations with public audiences; coordinate outreach meetings or events.
- Promote awareness of the organization to interested volunteers; conduct orientation sessions on volunteer opportunities.
- Manage inquiries and volunteer applications; maintain file integrity;
- Collaborate with headquarters on background checks for volunteers;
- Engage and motivate volunteers to fulfill various service opportunities and organizational needs on behalf of our clients including food delivery scheduling, tutoring, ESL, mentoring, transportation, and other services to clients;
- Develop a process for matching volunteers with activities for families/individuals, which may include questionnaires;
- Work with case managers to fulfill various requests and needs for their clients and departments;
- Work with USCRI staff and partners to acquire, inventory, organize and manage physical in-kind donations as needed;
- Keep detailed records and manage data for volunteer hours and in-kind donations, tracking goals and providing hours and donations to respective staff according to their program requirements;
- Plan and manage Volunteer Appreciation events;
- Assist Field Office Director on various volunteer-related projects, as needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to communicate in a positive, polite, and respectful manner
- Exceptional problem-solving capabilities, organizational skills and attention to details
- Process-driven for optimum efficiency and continuous improvement
- Able to plan and prioritize workload
- Self-driven and self-sufficient to initiate policies as needs or opportunities arise
- Able to maintain confidentiality with clients and external partners
- Able to assess and balance the needs of clients, case managers and volunteers with legal exposure and liabilities
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Able to work various shifts including evenings and weekends.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- Satisfactory completion of USCRI’s Orientation and Training.
- Complete additional training as identified by supervisor or Human Resources.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
- Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
- Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying; and
- Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).
