What you will be doing
Constellation Insurance Inc. is growing its private credit investing and is looking for a Vice President, Senior Credit Analyst. The ideal candidate has demonstrated a passion for investing and will lead sourcing, evaluation, analysis, execution and monitoring of private credit investments.
In addition, this position will collaborate with colleagues covering other asset classes, to construct a high-quality fixed income portfolio, occasionally helping with other corporate credit related investments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience performing fundamental credit analysis on and underwriting private credit, high yield or leverage loan investments. The position requires intellectual curiosity as well as strong interpersonal skills.
The position can be based in New York, Cincinnati or hybrid.
Responsibilities will include overseeing all aspects of the private credit investment activity including, but not limited to:
- Originate and source new investments via sponsor relations, bank partnerships, industry sources and investment brokers across different sectors
- Responsible for the underwriting, diligence, and documentation process
- Build financial models for analysis of individual companies
- Work with operations and legal departments as part of the investment due diligence and execution process
- Prepare and present periodic reports and portfolio reviews
- Closely monitor the performance of existing investments, including financial analysis of the underlying portfolio companies as well as the aggregate portfolio

What you need to be successful
- A bachelor's degree with a strong academic background
- At least five years prior work experience underwriting private credit, high yield or leverage loan investments
- A deep understanding of accounting and finance principles
- Ability to independently build company level financial models to evaluate investment opportunities
- Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in excel modeling and financial statement analysis
- Exceptionally detail orientation and intellectually curious
- A team player with positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to deliver on short timelines when needed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely
