Getinge's Cardiac Assist business is looking for a dynamic, energetic and business-oriented CFO with strong managerial and team building skills. The candidate must have the ability to handle a broad set of diverse responsibilities such as business control and complex accounting. International experience is preferred, as well as experience from relevant businesses and industries, preferably in a matrix organization.

 

To be successful in the role, it is necessary to quickly grasp, understand and feel for the business, not only from a helicopter perspective but also in detail. Additionally, the role requires business-minded CFO who is interested in the sales dimension and with a solid accounting, financing and tax platform. Ideally, the preferred candidate has already held the role of CFO in a similar environment, and has a strong knowledge and experience in production controlling and ERP systems (preferably SAP R3).

 

For the role, Getinge is looking for an experienced self-starter who can make prompt and clear decisions, and has the ability to initiate and generate activity. Leading by setting appropriate standards of behaviour is critical for the role, and the position should be able to provide the team with clear direction and have a track record in change management and driving performance. It is desired that the new CFO upholds ethics and values, demonstrates integrity and is a skilled communicator who easily builds a wide and effective network of contacts both inside and outside the organization.

 

A successful candidate demonstrates sound judgment and a talent for finding workable solutions to different problems and is effective in a high-pressure environment. The candidate seeks opportunities for organizational improvement and works strategically to realize organizational goals. It is critical that the role also sets high standards for quality, and comply with legislation and the safety requirements of the role.

 

The position reports to the CFO Acute Care Therapies, and works out of the Wayne, NJ Getinge US head office approximately 4 days a week. There will be limited international travel. 

 

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • Leading and developing the Product Area Cardiac Assist finance function and being a strong finance business partner to the Cardiac Assist Business Leader. Strong focus on interacting with the business to fully understand, analyse and interpret the financial data to be able to translate into business insights and actions.
  • Implement a solid financial governance model of Product Area Cardiac Assist and be an active and strong member of the Management Team as well as ACT Finance Management Team.
  • Strong leadership skills when it comes to establishing trust, collaborating, driving engagement and a performance mind-set. This is required both for the finance function, but also as a member of the PA Cardiac Assist management team. Be a change leader.
  • Approve and justify investments/business cases for the Product Area.
  • Ensuring cost control and continuous performance improvement to reach financial targets.
  • Work on improvement projects for cost control and expenses.
  • Taking care of all legal requirements on the financial perspective, leveraging US Financial Control organisation, and responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the Corporate Governance structure.
  • Work on efficiencies in the finance processes in coordination with SSC (Shared Services Centre in Krakow).
  • Assure compliance of local companies according to Code of Conduct and finance policies and taking care of integrity in the company.
  • Partner with Acute Care Therapy CFOs at the local an Global level and corporate functions.
  • Direct all financial functions to ensure that they meet the organization's business objectives and are conducted in accordance with regulations and accounting principles.
  • Actively contributes to strategic planning and decision-making at the top executive level to develop and implement a financial strategy that aligns with the organization's business objectives.
  • Evaluate acquisitions, investments, capital expenditure, divestitures, mergers, or the sale of assets to ensure they are financially viable.
  • Lead and develop the Product Areas finance function and being a strong finance business partner to the President with strong focus on interacting with the business to fully understand, analyze and interpret the financial data to be able to translate into business insights and actions.
  • Fosters an organizational structure and design business continuity with strong leadership skills when it comes to establishing trust, collaborating, driving engagement and a performance mind-set.

  • Monitors and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g compliance with FDA, BSI EEO regulations, etc).

 

Minimum Requirements

  • A Bachelors' degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or other related field and/or combination of education and related experience is required.
  • A minimum of 15 years of related work experience in finance in an industrial company, and preferably in a matrix organization.
  • Experience related to manufacturing and MedTech will be considered an asset.

  • Proven capabilities to handle a broad set of diverse responsibilities in business control
  • Monitors progress of assigned functions or business units toward organizational goals; monitors company-wide indicators such as market share and profitability; monitors the external environment including changes in the political and social climates, economic trends, market conditions, and international business. Will perform this job in a quality system environment.
  • Ability to quickly grasp, understand and feel for the business at a high-level perspective but also in detail.
  • Develops and articulates a strategic vision for the division or business unit, and influences individual, group, and organizational goals, rewards, and systems.
  • Creates long-range plans relating to organizational activities or the development of organizational competencies; participates in the budgeting process by translating strategic into operational goals; determines actual organizational structure and allocation of responsibilities within the division or business unit.
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills and strong in building relationships and stakeholder management.
  • Typically makes final decisions on administrative or operational matter.

 

The base salary for the position is a minimum salary of $195,000 and a maximum of $265,000 plus an annual bonus of 35%
