AbelCine is a full-service equipment and technology provider to the broadcast, production, and new media industries. We offer sales, finance, training, rental, and tech services to our professional customer base with offices in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. We are currently seeking a Training Coordinator & Technical Liaison to join our Training Department in our NYC headquarters.
This position will provide support to our Training and Marketing departments within the areas of AV support, logistics, space rental coordination as well as working with clients, vendors, and gear. This key position encompasses the following responsibilities:
- Maintain and support the technical operations of the training theater, including but not limited to:
- Provide day-to-day general upkeep and AV support in training theater, showroom, and Visual Lab
- Provide Training and Marketing event support including coordination, setup, and strike
- Switching, lighting, and automation equipment
- Assist with upgrades, and operating equipment for events as needed
- Setup for Training department activities and demos
- Provide technical demos on certain technologies, solutions, and products
- Serve as the main point of contact for space rental inquiries, serve as on-site rep during space rentals
- Triage and delegate tech support cases to the appropriate parties.
- Coordinate the operational side of the Training department, including but not limited to:
- Third-party and freelance instructors, consultations, and group training; Assist with coordinating Training team members’ schedules.
- Organize class materials and coordinate appropriate staff as required. Anticipate the needs of each class or event and plan accordingly. This includes booking equipment, printing course materials, general AV support, etc.
- Maintain the training website and workshop schedule.
- Initial point of contact for training and consultation inquiries; Address inquiries and custom training requests submitted by clients through our website, in person, or over the phone.
- Invoicing, administrative, and customer service support
- As needed, serve as TA or technical moderator for workshops
- Assist the marketing department with the creation of resources, and production of online workshops, charts, photographs, marketing videos
Successful applicants should possess the following skills and attributes:
- Undergraduate degree in Film Production or Media, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 2+ years of on set and/or live production experience
- Deep understanding of cinema and broadcast equipment, technology, and workflows, including industry trends. A natural curiosity and desire to learn more is strongly preferred
- 1+ years of administrative experience; prior experience in customer service is a plus
- Ability to multitask effectively; organization, efficiency and attention to detail are a must
- Exceptional customer and verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in full Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint); Ability to learn proprietary software
- Strong experience working in both Windows and Mac OS environments; familiarity with networking and programming a plus
- Strong experience working in a team environment
- Exceptional organization and planning skills
- High level of accountability, professionalism, solid work ethic, and emotional intelligence
- Ability to perform in events of changing priorities
- Ability to lift and manipulate cases weighting up to 40 pounds
Physical Effort:
- Prolonged standing, walking for the length of the work shift
- Sitting and standing work at a computer, requiring frequent use of computer monitors
- Move supplies and equipment requiring moderate physical effort (lift/carry/push/pull up to 40 lbs.)
- Manual dexterity and mobility
- Frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, and crouching
- Occasionally remove or replace supplies or equipment weighing up to 25 lbs. from locations at or above shoulder level
This is a full-time, on-site, non-exempt position.
Compensation Range: 52K-55K
