JOB DESCRIPTION
Fox News is hiring a Field Operations Technical Assistant/Crew Resource Desk Coordinator in NY. As a Technical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the Field Operations team with technical tasks and ensuring the smooth execution of projects. You will be helping to provide live and taped video to all of the Fox Media units. As a Coordinator, you will be responsible for scheduling and booking staff and freelance crews for Fox News, Fox Business, Fox Nation, and Fox Weather. You will book all crew requests utilizing Fox Bureau photographers and freelance crews across the country and create relationships with hundreds of camera crews around the world.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Basic ENG Field Photography to eventually working on shoots in the field
Single Camera and Multi Camera Set-Ups
Audio for Single and Multi-Camera Set-Ups
Basic Lighting for news gathering and long format interviews
Safely drive company owned and rental vehicles
Streaming technologies
Backfill NY Studio Van operators when needed
Assign staff and hire freelance crews for news and news story packages
Engage field assets including cameras, audio gear, drones, transmission vehicles, and studio vans
Input personnel information and distribute the daily handover
Update and maintain database
Monitor daily requests
Analyze monthly expenditures and department needs
Process invoices
Secure and deploy resources whenever there is breaking news nationally or internationally
Proactively secure resources in the field
Facilitate communication between camera crews and field producers and bookers
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Basic knowledge of camera, audio, and drone gear
Strong logistical and organizational skills
Knowledge of Jira and Inews computer systems
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and intense environment
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including nights, overnights, and weekends
Motivated, self-starter who is able to work independently as well as in a team environment
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work efficiently, especially under pressure
Outstanding written and verbal communication and team-building skills to maintain relationships with staff and vendors
Critical thinking skills for coordinating crews under strict time constraints
Experience in broadcast or affiliate news services is a plus

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $55,500.00-70,000.00 annually for New York City and Westchester County, NY. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
