Murdoch Developmental Center is currently recruiting for a Timekeeper (HR Technician I). The primary purpose of this position is to accurately audit, calculate, and maintain time records for approximately 1500 employees at Murdoch Developmental Center. This position requires good mathematical skills, concentration, and the ability to function in an independent manner in responding to inquiries in relation to employee time.
Responsibilities include:
- The position is responsible for auditing and approving time in Kronos on a weekly basis.
- The position investigates/audits and corrects any discrepancies or errors reported to timekeeping and forwards findings to the appropriate discipline.
- The position reports any errors in work rules and time controls to supervisor for further investigation.
- This position requires the ability to learn, interpret and explain policies and procedures as set forth by Fiori (Beacon), Murdoch Developmental Policies and the North Carolina State Personnel Manual.
Murdoch Developmental Center is a 24/7 state residential facility located in Butner, NC, near the Research Triangle area. Murdoch serves individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD). Murdoch is a caring community where professionals work with people of various ages, cognitive and functional abilities.
- Experience reviewing and processing timesheet data (such as overtime, shift premium, use of leave, etc.) into a computer system
- Experience auditing time entries to resolve payroll issues and/or leave balances
- Ability to work independently while managing a variety of tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Ability of communicate effectively both orally and in written formats.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in applying, interpreting and communicating a variety of policies, procedures and regulations associated with human resources.
Management Preferences:
- Experience with electronic timekeeping system, preferably Kronos, to include verifying attendance, hours worked and necessary pay adjustments while tracking overtime and leave such as vacation, sick, holidays, etc.
- Experience in Human Resources Office
