What You'll Be Doing
Job Scope: The Materials Coordinator maintains material status reporting, monitors & tracks orders, monitors internal supplier documentation review cycles, and interfaces with various key roles (see Primary Interfaces) within the organization on assigned project(s) to ensure timely, frequent and accurate reporting of material status. Also responsible for verifying payroll/billing hours against customer time tracking system and making photocopies, faxing documents and performing other clerical functions as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provides functional knowledge and compiles/maintains manual or computerized records
- Advises the assigned project(s) steering team(s) regarding potential delays related to materials
- Liaises with Project Procurement Manager (PPM) and Expeditor (if applicable) for supplier-related deliverables and resolutions
- Attends, schedules and facilitates meetings with the project team as required
Primary Interfaces:
- Purchasing: Sourcing, Expediting and logistics.
- Site Team: Site Material Marshal/Coordinator, Site Receiving, Warehouse Team
- Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) Subject Matter Expert
- Enterprise tools & reporting systems (e.g. Smart Materials, SAP, Power BI, Analytics, SharePoint)
Ideal Background
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- The ability to work legally in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
- Proficient in MS Office software
- Excellent oral/written communication skills
- Knowledge of basic accounting
- TWIC Card Required
- Capital Project Supply Chain Management and life-cycle of materials
- Materials Management systems and tools
- Bills of Materials and Master Project Schedules
- Industry Best Practices related to Materials Management and Construction (e.g. RFID Tagging, AWP)
- Project Cost Control and Change Management
- Desk and/or Field Expediting experience, including knowledge of supplier fabrication processes
- Ability to comprehend Master Project Schedules (including context of predecessors and successors) and correlate date output from multiple reports.
- Demonstrated organizational skills - including Filing / Retention (within Dow guidelines)
- Experience in team collaboration
- Strong ability to innovate and develop solutions as needed to meet new challenges
- Demonstrated ability to deliver Customer Value (internally and externally)
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to work within and propose improvement to work processes and procedures
- Communication and persuasion
- Ability to work under pressure with multiple disciplines and moving deadlines
