Job Purpose and Impact
The Technical Specialist on the Dairy team will provide technical advice and support to customers and consultants. In this position, you'll partner with dairy focus consultants on technical troubleshooting of current customer's needs. This could include farm visits and audits as well as technical nutrition discussion. You'll stay ahead of technology and business practices through workshops, research, and professional meetings. You will also be integral in development and implementation of new technology.
Key Accountabilities
- Collaborate with consultants to provide onsite technical support for current customers and prospects.
- Provide customer solutions and technical support materials to specific customers.
- Technical training of consultants
- Organize information and conclusions for internal team and customer presentations, assist with product demonstrations and service as subject matter guide during meetings with prospective customers.
- Working with external suppliers to understand new products and technologies to make recommendations on applications.

- Stay ahead of product insight and research to improve value of offerings.
- Keep application and value collection up to date in the systems.
- Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
Location: open to remote. Regional farms located in the MN, MI or WI area.

Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate degree, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Dairy Nutrition or related advanced degree
- Passion for understanding, creating, and communicating value and solutions to team members and customers.
- Herd management software experience (PC Dart, Dairy Comp, EZ Feed, TMR Tracker, etc. )
- Forage knowledge/experience
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of a Master's degree in a related field
- Minimum of four years of related work experience (can include experience gained in academia)
- Ability to travel up to 50%
