- Manage the recruitment life cycle for positions across multiple locations, assisting hiring managers in identifying a diverse candidate pool, and establishing strong and trusting partnerships with departments by understanding business needs.
- Write job descriptions, ensuring competitive pay ranges that align with market and industry standards.
- Oversee recruitment efforts for assigned roles (both intern and full-time) including submitting open job requisitions, posting roles on external job boards, phone screening candidates, scheduling interviews, extending offers, assembling offer letters, checking references, etc., delivering results that meet candidate and hiring managers’ expectations.
- Identify, contact, and cultivate ongoing relationships with potential job candidates through a variety of professional channels, including colleges and universities, LinkedIn, social media networks, community organizations, professional networking groups, and more.
- Organize and present at information sessions for prospective candidates in addition to attending career fairs and other networking events.
- Conduct new hire orientation and assist in completing new hire paperwork, identifying new hire buddies, and conducting check-ins with new hires and managers, delivering results that meet candidate and hiring managers’ expectations.
- Assist with training and development efforts, including developing and delivering training programs such as time management training, recruitment and unconscious bias training, intern summer speaker series, HBG publishing curriculum sessions, and more.
- Coordinate employee engagement initiatives such as Coffee Connections, an internal networking initiative, and wellness initiatives such as Community Service Day.
- Assist in managing the offboarding process, including conducting exit interviews and assisting in compiling and analyzing exit data trends.
- 5+ years human resources experience, with proven experience in life cycle recruitment
- Proven background in using innovative research and sourcing strategies to identify and engage diverse talent with the ability to dive deep into searches for hard-to-fill roles.
- Ability to effectively screen and interview candidates to assess skill and cultural fit.
- Familiarity with social networks and internet recruiting best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and previous experience effectively using Applicant Tracking and HRIS systems.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, presentation, customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Detail oriented with excellent follow up skills.
- Flexibility and ability to work effectively as a team member.
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
- Interest in books/publishing industry a plus!

The compensation range for this position is $70,000 - $75,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
