Why are We Hiring This Role?
We brought on board a consultant to TNT to start building out a scaled internal hiring function. Now that the core elements are in place, and the new hires are flowing in, TNT needs a full-time TA manager to take over, 100% own it full time, and run with it from here.
And that’s where you come in. TNT’s aggressive growth goals demand a dedicated, hands-on recruiter who can scale things smoothly. Our agency lives and dies by the quality of marketing and creative talent we’re able to attract. We’ve set the talent bar extremely high to ensure we can deliver the performance our clients deserve. And now we need an extremely strong recruiting and Talent Acquisition leader to 100% own everything in TA from A-Z.
What’s the Ideal Candidate’s Background?
The idea candidate is a high-energy, results-driven recruiter who has an extremely strong and deep background recruiting performance marketing and performance creative talent. You know how to pinpoint the best media buyers, copywriters, video editors, creative producers, performance marketers, etc. and land them. You’ve likely already got a deep network of talent to tap into.
The best candidates will likely come from a digital agency background, having worked as a lead recruiter or extremely hands-on recruiting manager directly inside an agency itself, or having worked with a recruiting agency who specializes in performance marketing. There’s a huge difference between brand marketers/creatives and performance marketing/direct response marketers/creatives. If you understand that difference, you’re precisely what we’re looking for. If you don’t, this position is not for you.
Just as important is the hands-on, 100% ownership element of this position. Not only will you be building the TA strategy, but you’ll also be implementing/managing/optimizing it from A-Z. The ideal candidate must absolutely both love the recruiting/people side of this, but also the strategy/systems/process/workflow/organizational/operational side of it.

It's also important to understand how our teams work as this has a big impact on recruiting. We’ve structured our teams into cells, each of which has a portfolio of clients its assigned. Each cell is comprised of a performance manager, media buyer, creative producer, junior and senior copywriters, and video editors. And everyone on the cell marches to the beat of the same drum, focused on the single goal of helping clients hit their spend and ROAS targets.
What Will You Be Responsible for?
Put simply, you will be responsible for delivering the talent needed for TNT to achieve its aggressive growth goals. This includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Establishing Strategy – shape overall TA strategy both for active and passive sourcing, resource planning appropriately to ensure new hires arrive in time to support TNT’s growth objectives, while ensuring the entire candidate-to-onboarding experience is optimized.
- Building Foundational Elements – includes career pages on LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, etc., setup and optimize LinkedIn Recruiter, optimize our ATS (Teamtailor), establishing performance KPIs and building reporting dashboards for accountability, file/asset management systems, etc.
- Hands-on Hiring/Recruiting – clarifying job spec/role, writing job descriptions, posting jobs on recruiting platforms, identifying top candidates and reaching out to them directly, conducting screening interviews, coordinating hiring manager interviews, training hiring managers how to interview properly, leading reference/background checks, etc.
- Pre-Boarding/Onboarding – extending employment offers/contracts, coordinating with operational resources to ensure new hires are set up for success, e.g. proper orientation, training, setup in systems, etc.
What are the Requirements?
- 3-5+ Years Proven Recruiting Success – includes direct response copywriters, video editors, creative producers, creative directors, media buyers and performance marketers
- Employer Branding – proven ability to shape and properly articulate an employer brand across internal and external career pages and the overall candidate experience
- Expert Candidate Sourcing – extremely effective in sourcing passive candidates, crafting compelling pitches to gain attention and closing them by getting them to apply
- Persuasive Communicator – able to articulate persuasive thoughts and tell compelling stories both in writing and in live conversation in a way that’s naturally magnetic
- Systems-Oriented – adept at setting up ATS systems and other workflows and process in a systematic way to ensure an efficient, automated-as-much, smooth candidate experience
- Data-Driven – a love for numbers, can easily build, manipulate and slice and dice spreadsheets, detecting patterns that lead to the insights that inform next steps
