This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, and will run May/June to August; it is only eligible for current students with a graduation date past December 2024.
The Air Traffic Solutions Systems Engineering Department is seeking Systems Engineering interns in Orange County, California area. Our unique portfolio of automation, surveillance, navigation, and landing solutions is improving safety and efficiency across more than two-thirds of the world's air space.
Primary Responsibilities:
In this intern role, you will have opportunities to learn and support the design, development, testing and monitoring of a Satellite Based Augmentation System for navigation. You will support basic Systems Engineering development on a multi-discipline team. Responsibilities may include the following areas:
  • Algorithm development, prototyping, and data analysis support.
  • System requirement development and design review support.
  • System integration and testing support.
  • System performance monitoring, analysis, and anomaly investigation support.
  • System process procedure documentation.
  • Correcting and updating technical documents.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and in junior or senior status.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • General working knowledge of AIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with and/or course work in Global Positioning System (GPS).
  • C/C++/C#, Matlab, Python.
  • Academic projects and examples of innovation of new and emerging technologies.
  • Course work and examples of Technical Writing skills.
