Varian is seeking to bring on a Systems Engineering Intern for the Summer of 2024. The Internship will also incorporate numerous social, networking and development opportunities to facilitate professional development with a goal of providing career opportunities after graduation. This role provides technical expertise for next generation initiatives and the intern will have the opportunity to work with a team of 8 to 10 engineers.

The base pay range for this position is
Min $47,200 - Max $88,000
The pay wage range shown is based on the job posting's primary location. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and location.

You are responsible for:
- Participating in defining and authoring software requirements.
- Engaging in software requirements tracing.
- Contributing to defining and authoring software design.
- Assisting in designing framework, system, or product.
- Participating in engineering documents review.
- Defining system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility.
- Conceiving system interfaces and business application prototypes.
- Providing technical expertise for next generation initiatives.
- Participating in resolving design/interfacing issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Enrolled in university pursing a degree or graduated within 12 months with a degree (B-Tech, BS, MS)
- Sound (Object-oriented analysis and design) OOAD knowledge with design patterns.
- Strong analytical, investigation, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as participating in a team of professionals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills - Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with other teams.
- Self-motivated with eagerness to learn.
- Good time management, organization and inter-personal skills.
- Experience with requirement management tools preferred - Jama, Requisite Pro
