As a Systems Research Engineer Intern, you will join a team that explores cross-stack architectures, optimizations, and tradeoffs across Micron's software, systems, and device technologies. As an intern on a forward-thinking research team, your research will focus on multiple layers of the compute stack, including applications, frameworks, operating systems, architectures, and devices. $33.53 - $44.30
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
- Independently evaluate and drive research explorations for Micron's systems portfolio: in-/near-memory computation, workload acceleration, using new memory technologies, and more
- Develop solutions for real systems problems, spanning novel applications software, operating systems, and systems architecture improvements
- Publish research papers and presentations within Micron
- Present research outcomes and recommendations to director-level management and above
Minimum Qualifications:
- Research experience in the areas of architecture, operating systems, applications, memory systems, or related field
- Architecture-level knowledge of a modern microarchitecture employing x86, RISC-V, ARM, etc.
- A good grasp of data center, mobile, or embedded systems architectures
- Programming experience in C, C++, Python, or other high level language
Preferred Qualifications:
- Published research papers in the areas of architecture, operating systems, applications, memory systems, or related field
- Ability to understand and optimize system and workload performance
- Ability to own and drive independent research projects
Education:
- Must be continuing education in Fall of 2024
- Enrolled in a Masters or PhD program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
