Surgical Coordinator

To Healthy Feet Podiatry is looking for a part-time Surgical Coordinator to join our team. This person performs administrative duties relevant to surgical operations. This position includes surgery scheduling, appointment reminders, keeping patient records, entering post-surgical data and scheduling surgical equipment.

The ideal candidate is a true team player who has excellent attention to detail, is a quick learner and computer savvy. This critical role assists in coordinating of all aspects of pre and post surgical needs of the patients and, in some cases - their insurance companies. Required to interact with our Surgical Center, anesthesiologists, provide pre post operative care and prep instructions to the patient and their caregivers.

Note: This the position can be Remote/Telecommute role but the candidate may need to come in person for training and onboarding. This is a part-time position.

Responsibilities: 

• Surgical Preparation – Ensure the case is booked with the center/facility; Send out all calendar invites (doctor, billing, admin, anesthesia). Request all materials from the center and coordinate with Doctor. Ensure all pre-op and post-op appointments are booked beforehand. Ensure payments for surgery are discussed and taken. Ensure transportation, chaperone and take-home is arranged/confirmed with the patient. Ensure medical clearance is in chart and to the appropriate party
• Communication – Call the patient the day before surgery. Ensure patient is contacted the day after surgery.
• Surgery Follow-Up – Ensure all consents are signed and in chart. Ensure all photos are in chart. Ensure patient come to first post-op appointment. Ensure operative report is sent to billing. Ensure that photos are taken 6 months after surgery

Requirements: 

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
• A minimum of one year of recent experience
• Able to navigate between screens: able to accurately enter data
• Excellent telephone skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and resilience

Salary:

• $25 per hour depending on experience
