Cardinals Summer Program is seeking individuals who love working with children and enjoy building relationships with them. The assistant teacher will work alongside the lead teacher in the classroom. The assistant teacher will help supervise/monitor children in a variety of settings (classroom, playground, field trips). Teachers will work together to provide a safe, respectful, fun, and positive learning environment as well as a create a positive and supportive team atmosphere. Responsibilities include:
- Maintain professional relationships with MCS teachers, staff, and families.
- Create and maintain a positive learning environment in accordance with early childhood standards and regulations.
- Assist with after-school program with lessons/homework as needed.
- Always follow state ratios and guidelines.
- Provide support to the Lead Teacher by helping with implementing classroom rules and procedures, lesson plans, and activities.
- Build trusting relationships with each child and family.
- Supervise children to always ensure their safety and health by providing a consistent, positive, and caring environment for the children in your care.
- Maintain a safe and clean learning environment daily.
- Engage in positive conversation with children throughout the day.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years old.
- Pediatric CPR and First-Aid Certified, or willing to obtain
- Must meet KS Department of Health & Environment Requirements.
