Job Summary:
The Freshwater Research Institute (FRI) has a collection of Environmental Education and outreach modules to be used by the Environmental Education and Outreach (EEO) team for public/community/school events by invitation or request. This is a temporary, non-benefit eligible, non-exempt position as defined by FLSA standards.
Specific Responsibilities:
- FRI EEO interns will create (if there is a subject need) and maintain/update modules so that everything is prepared for outreach events.
- Interns will conduct scheduled/requested FRI EEO events, promote the FRI, and be encouraged to search out opportunities to schedule additional events.
Learning Objectives:
- Prepare and execute Environmental Education information in an effective way.
- Communicate with the public by connecting them to the environment.
- Coordinating logistics with FRI employees and event/venues about needs, wants, and objectives

- Communication Skills: verbal/written with people of all ages and backgrounds.
- Organizational Skills: show up prepared, on-time, with all materials

Additional Requirements:This position is paid $10.00 per hour and approximately 1- 5 hours per week on average but can fluctuate based on demands.
