Our Funeral Services Associates are responsible for assisting our directors with events, helping to maintain the facility appearance, and providing information in a compassionate and professional manner to our client families. Your work is the foundation of our ability to supply a source of support, guidance, and direction to client families before, during, and after the loss of a loved one.Responsibilities:

Staff Assistant, Funeral Services

We are seeking a Funeral Staff Associate to join our team at Skylawn Funeral Home where we offer a friendly and supportive work environment. Our Funeral Services Associates are responsible for assisting our directors with events, helping to maintain the facility appearance, and providing information in a compassionate and professional manner to our client families. Your work is the foundation of our ability to supply a source of support, guidance, and direction to client families before, during, and after the loss of a loved one.
- Assist Funeral Directors with preparations ahead of visitation or Funeral Services such as dressing, adjusting clothing and jewelry, and transporting casket through hallways. May assist with lifting deceased.
- Prepare rooms for a variety of services including but not limited to cleaning chairs, tables, restrooms, lobby, and lounge areas as well as setting up guest books, flowers, keepsakes, mementos, casket, and urn
- Direct traffic and assist in parking cars ahead of graveside services
- Greet visitors, provide programs, answers questions, and provide Funeral Services information
- May serve as pallbearer
- May drive various funeral vehicles to cemetery site
- Following services, responsible for removal, cleaning, and proper storage of company property as well as packaging, loading, or delivery of family mementos, keepsakes, and flowers
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years old
- 1 year of experience in customer service preferred
- Experience handling difficult situations
- Funeral profession experience preferred but not required
- Caring, empathetic, and committed to providing best-in-class service to families
- Respect the high level of importance attached to discretion and confidentiality
- Availability to work weekends, evenings, and days on an on-call basis as needed.
- Strong communication skills and high levels of compassion and integrity
- Detail-oriented with a positive attitude and a team player
- Ability to lift 50lbs safely
- Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clear driving record
Pay Range:$21-$24/hr.
