Student Research Assistant

The student worker completes administrative tasks for the PI's grants, including coordinating program activities across campuses and laboratories, facilitating interactions with scientists and committees, and managing project details and reports. Additionally, they provide general administrative support to the Principal Investigator, handling correspondence, organizing travel arrangements, maintaining calendars, and assisting with report preparation and database management. Salary: $17 - $37.50 hourly

REQUIRED * Must be at least sophomore UCLA student * Must have completed a general lab chemistry class * Skill to keep accurate and organized records * Skill to be flexible in changing protocols and learning new techniques. * Skill to write legibly using correct spelling to record technical lab results. * Skill to communicate effectively and with mutual respect with co-workers, and other staff. * Ability to work independently with average amount of supervision. * Skill to recognize out of control situations, and notify proper personnel to remedy situation. * Demonstrated ability to follow through on work assignments. * Willingness and ability to work changing hours if necessary. * Basic knowledge of tissue culture * Knowledge of basic chemistry and biology. * Knowledge of quality control and instrumental usage * Lab safety course completions for compliance. * Must be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks
