Staff Accountant

SUMMARY:

This position is primarily responsible for the accurate processing and payment of Accounts Payable. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for all accounts payable functions for all entities including invoice processing and ensuring all invoices are properly coded and approved.
• Work with Managers and Department heads to ensure proper coding of invoices.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with Juniper Preserve Purchasing SOP including purchase order compliance.
• Responsible for all invoice/statement processing including purchase authorization check, reconciliation, check preparation and distribution.
• Filing and organization of vendor documents.
• Reviews monthly AP aging report and offers suggestions as to actions to be taken on any unresolved balances.
• Process all expense reports, review for back up and ensure validity of each as well as validity of balance requested.
• Set up new vendors in accounting software and requesting current copies of W9s.
• Prepare and send all 1099s electronically on an annual basis.
• Review and count daily cash for proper reconciliation and posting.
• Able to cross-train with Accounts Receivable and Income Audit (in order to be a backup for these areas).
• Maintain a clean and neat work environment.

• Maintains positive attitude and the flexibility to take on new and different tasks as assigned by the Controller. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office, and Google platforms.
• Ability to multi-task with superior attention to detail.
• Proficient in spreadsheet and word processing applications.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid solutions.

Desirable:

• Experience with Sage 100, Springer Miller, and Jonas software.
• Experience with Concur Automation is a plus. 

SALARY: $50,000 to $55,000 annually.
