James Moore & Co., P.L. is searching for a full-time Senior Accountantin their Accounting Controllership Services Department. This position will interact and coordinate with clients to ensure proper accounting treatment, execution of accounting functions and reporting of results. This is a client facing role that will allow the accountant the opportunity to help the small businesses and non-profits of the communities the we serve to thrive financially!

What you will do in this Senior Accountant role:

• Interact and coordinate with clients to ensure proper accounting treatment, execution of accounting functions and reporting of results.
• Maintain accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements,
• Address tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, and year-end audit preparation.
• Review discrepancies in data received from clients and requests clarification or advises supervisor of issues related to data.
• Interact with departmental and other staff on matters affecting data flow and makes recommendations for improvement or enhancement to job processes to ensure standards in data entry, collection and retrieval.
• Accounts payable responsibilities including charging expenses to accounts, recording entries, processing checks, resolving purchase order or invoice discrepancies, verifying vendor accounts, and similar functions.

What you'll bring to the table:

• A bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 to 10 years of progressively responsible experience managing all aspects of project administration.
• A high level of confidentiality and written and oral communication skills are a must.
• Ability to positively and proactively manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines and thrive in fast-pace, dynamic environment.
• Experience in managing projects and processes effectively
• Sound critical thinking skills and complex problem-solving abilities
• Ability to analyze and interpret data and reporting from MS Excel, Power BI, Quickbooks, and other sources to create high-level reporting and proposals for internal and external clients
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office products, especially in MS Outlook and MS Excel skills, is a must.
• Experience in Sage Intacct, Sage MAS 90, MIP, CCH Axcess, Bill and ADP.
• Positive attitude and excellent relationship building and communication skills, both oral and written.
