This role will lead the claims process, including accurate and timely claims creation, follow-up and correspondence with providers/insurance inquiries, and oversight to monitoring the internal billing processes to ensure payments related to patient services are reconciled timely in order to maximize revenues.
Essential Functions
Lead accounts receivable reconciliation and accounts payable invoices
Ensure timely processing of payments from insurance companies and handle any escalations related to posting, correcting and/or resubmitting open or denied claims
Monitor patient accounts to ensure on-time payments and report on overdue accounts
Responsible for internal billing process and procedure, refunds, and any billing escalations
Resolves billing discrepancies by investigating billing and invoicing errors and implement process improvements to avoid future errors
Audits others and assists with coaching and training as needed
Acts as point of escalation for challenging calls from vendors and customers regarding questions about billing and payment status.
Reviews past due accounts and sends correspondence for collections
Acts as point of escalation for credit and payment balances issues and collection referrals
Acts as oversight lead on all billing-related reporting
Works on special projects and performs other related duties assigned or requested
Job Specifications:
Typically has the following skills or abilities:
Two to Four years of finance or billing experience
Demonstrated professionalism and leadership in dealing with situations involving controversy and conflict, experience handling and resolving escalated issues
Demonstrated advanced communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills
Regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of job duties; ability to work independently and in a team environment
Demonstrated ability to identify problems and provide creative solutions
Strong attention to detail, multi-tasking, organizational skills, and customer service skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including navigating difficult conversations
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
