We are currently adding a Billing Coordinator to our team! This position will require frequent interaction with patients, caregivers, and co-workers to ensure correct and efficient billing of services including nursing and occupational, physical and speech therapies in the pediatric home health setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete the billing process for all healthcare services. Ensuring that claims are filed timely with the appropriate insurance payer.
- Research outstanding claims.
- File appropriate appeals.
- Assist with payer changes.
- Post payments to appropriate accounts.
- Provide assistance in obtaining insurance authorization when needed.
- Coordinate and audit paper visits with daily notes for accuracy.
- Communicate outstanding discrepancies to the Billing Manager.
- Provide notification to client families, referring physicians, and therapists regarding eligibility status.
- Comply with all company policies, practices, and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Work Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Prior Medical Billing experience preferred.
- Healthcare experience preferred.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to learn new concepts and ideas quickly.
- Exceptional customer service skills; especially in relation to internal team members.
- Ability to prioritize work and multi-task.
- High ethical and moral standards.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard.
- Ability to sit at a computer for an extended period.
- Light to moderate physical activity and lifting is required.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements.
- Moderate noise (i.e., business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
