Shipping Clerk

Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk. As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our distribution processes. This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth and advancement.

Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify the accuracy of the contents
- Inspect packages for damages or defects
- Sort, label, and distribute incoming packages to the appropriate departments or storage areas
- Prepare outgoing shipments by packing items securely and selecting the appropriate shipping method
- Generate shipping labels and documentation using our management system
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pick-ups and deliveries
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments
- Conduct regular inventory counts to ensure stock accuracy
- Assist with order picking, packing, and order fulfillment as needed

Experience:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse shipping/receiving role preferred
- Familiarity with manufacturing management systems and order fulfillment processes
- Knowledge of order picking and packing procedures

Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and external carriers

Education and Experience:

- High School diploma or GED

- At least 1 year experience in a clerical shipping and receiving role.

- Experience with shipping, receiving, inventory collection, and using computer software necessary to create invoices, packing slips and bills of lading.

- Basic understanding of safety practices and use of personal protective equipment preferred.

Physical Requirements:

- Prolonged periods of standing.

- Must be able to lift-up to 75 pounds at times.

- Must be able to work in environments with extreme heat.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
