YOUR TASKS
- Routing, packaging, and designing automotive wire harness (power cables) and components in collaboration with customer and OEM defined requirements
- Serving as technical and program deliverable responsible for product design and development from prototype phase to production
- Interfacing with engineering teams
- Collaborating with DVP&R (Design Verification Process and Report) internal team to validate product according to customer requirements
- Assisting internal team in understanding customer requirements and be the lead interface with customer
- Maintaining program specific product DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) in collaboration with appropriate teams globally
- Evaluating all customer information for accuracy and be able to effectively communicate to internal cross functional teams
- Evaluating customer information/requirements and reviewing for technical compliance
- Ensuring design meets customer and internal specifications
- Interfacing with customer and internal cross functional teams to achieve all program milestones and development timeline
- Maintaining project timelines and coordinating activities with teams globally to achieve project milestones
- Collaborating with various department team members globally to ensure compliance to core company processes and methods
- Initiating customer product trials documenting results and obtaining required customer approvals
- Leading customer interface for program change control and technical issues
- Maintaining program specific open issues list and ensuring timely closure of all issues
- Interfacing with company management and escalating issues, as appropriate
- Represent company at all customer technical and design review program meetings
- Mentoring less experienced engineers, as required
YOUR PROFILE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical). Master’s Degree in Engineering preferred
- 60 months experience in the job offered and/or as a Senior Harness Engineer
- Academic program and/or experience must have included: automotive electrical systems architecture; wire harness systems; component analysis & design verification using NX TeamCenter; wire harness packaging & routing using NX TeamCenter; creating 2D assembly drawings of vehicle assembly process using NX TeamCenter; Design Review Based on Failure Mode Reviewer; Monozukuri for cost reduction.
