POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Senior Brand Manager to oversee a multi-category portfolio of clean and affordable beauty brands sold exclusively at 19K+ Dollar General stores.

The Brand Director will oversee marketing initiatives for Believe Beauty (Color Cosmetics, Nail, Skincare, Fragrance) and Root to End haircare. This exclusive brand platform delivers beauty for all with a focus on inclusive shade ranges, amazing finishes and textures for all styles and every generation.

The role will focus on managing the merchandising and in-store activation pipeline by leveraging insights and analytics in support of brand's strategic direction, priorities and market share objectives. The Brand Director will oversee and drive all launch lifecycle - driving deadlines and marketing deliverables from program kickoff, to final program and campaign delivery, on time and within COGs guidelines and budget.

A key focus of the role is centered on driving profitability across the entire portfolio with the goal of maximizing margins and will collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Digital, Incubation & Innovation, Finance, Creative, and external agencies.

PAY RANGE: $120,000/yr - $140,000/yr. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, and experience.

This role is based at our office headquarters in New York, New York. This is a hybrid role that includes a few days in office expected each week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage multiple merchandising planograms across Believe Beauty & Root to End brands (endcaps, floorstands, in-line placement).
  • Manage and own Brand financials, include P&L and marketing budget.
  • Manage launch campaigns tied to promotional calendars, retailer key objectives, seasonality.
  • Plan and execute digital and social campaigns with retailer to support promotions and launches throughout the year.
  • Monitor and track competitive promo activity, proactively identify implications for business performance.
  • Program post analysis and identify best practices for future implementation.
  • Manage the execution of the brand marketing strategy, delivering best in class campaigns, activations and product launches.
  • Support management of day-to-day communication/development with all cross functional teams including Creative, Digital, Sales, and Production to ensure timetable/milestone adherence. Includes tracking key milestones in weekly cross-functional meetings, submitting and updating briefs and cost feasibilities.
  • Drive creation of internal and retailer presentations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Passion and familiarity with in-store tactics for building retailer specific plans and telling a story with the power of data
  • 6 to 9 years of experience of general management and or sales experience within beauty or consumer goods sector with a focus in consumer marketing / shopper marketing.
  • Beauty and Personal care experience is preferred, but not required
  • Thrives in a fast paced, fluid environment with the capacity to adjust to shifting priorities
  • Digitally savvy
  • Strong organizational and communications skills with the ability to work within a matrixed team, both internally and externally
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently.

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field of study

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Strategy: Set vision and define success for brand in market and at launch. Lead annual brand marketing plans and budgets.
  • Business Results and Opportunity Assessment: Analyze market and business to identify opportunities for growth, define strategies and ensure objectives are being realized. Exercise critical thinking to set high performance standards, measure for success, and adjust plans to deliver against growth agenda. Support post-launch analyses with support from brand teams and cross-functional partners.
  • Business Plan and Project Management and Execution: Define the business plan to deliver category and brand objectives. Own the budget and P&L for each Brand. Manage brand projects including focused on innovation and merchandising to deliver on-time with executional excellence.
  • Innovation: Lead cross-functional teams to develop commercial, marketing and product innovation Collaborate with Design, Product, Sales, to create distinctive products, platforms and experiences that drive awareness and trial.
  • Skills & Capability Development: Coach and develop Associate Brand Managers. Develop business objectives, performance, personal development, and training plans. Provide coaching, feedback, and guidance.
  • Cross Functional Management: Partner with internal teams and external agencies to ensure all product/seasonal activations are executed on schedule and to budget.
  • Champion the Brands: Drive alignment strategy with senior management and key commercial stakeholders. Responsible for consulting with cross-functional partners and driving alignment across the organization. Participate in key sales and marketing presentations.
