A key member of our Strategic Sales Operations (SSO) team, the Transportation Senior Proposal Manager's primary responsibility is providing leadership and support on highly strategic, complex, must-win opportunities in North America. The ideal candidate is adept at communicating with senior leadership, is organized and accountable, and demonstrates responsibility for meeting deadlines and following through on commitments. All members of our SSO team are expected to be self-starters who possess excellent oral and written communication skills; develop creative solutions to tackle challenges; are team players ready to support each other; and have a vested interest in Jacobs' success.
Our Senior Proposal Managers are responsible for the following general activities:
Often in partnership with account, opportunity, and technical teams, lead the preparation and coordination of highly strategic, must-win proposals, and coordinate/provide direction to graphic designers, document publishers, writers/editors, and other support staff
Directly support the opportunity team's leadership to refine and integrate pursuit strategy/win themes in proposal documents
Provide heavy support to and/or take ownership of sections of major strategic opportunities working in conjunction with senior sales staff
With no supervision, coordinate, write, edit/tailor, and perform research for non-technical proposal sections; ensure compliance; and proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate potential issues/variances
Lead kick-off meetings, color review meetings, and other milestone meetings, as appropriate
Participate in opportunity planning/Middle Game activities
Understand business objectives, priorities, and sales strategy, especially as they relate to the proposal process
Work with the opportunity team's leadership to suggest teaming partners/subconsultants and qualified Jacobs staff during kick-off/strategy sessions and organization chart development
Serve as a subject matter expert, advocate, and actively follow SSO procedures, policies, protocols, and best practices, including standard file management and archiving procedures, as well as branding guidelines
Lead and/or support planning and development of presentations and interviews
Employ and populate/update (as appropriate) business development-related tools and databases
Understand company markets, partner/competitor/subconsultant firms, clients, and industry trends
Foster strong, mutually beneficial working relationships with operations, other SSO staff, selling units, and sales enablement teams both locally and across the network
May act as a group resource and trainer for sales best practices, policies, and procedures
May coach, mentor, and/or provide oversight to junior staff within the SSO
This is a remote position.
Experience with Transportation clients across North America
A Bachelor's degree, preferably in a business, marketing, communication, technical, or other related field
At least 8 years of experience in proposal management/coordination
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
Ideally, you'll also have:
Proposal experience in the engineering, architecture, environmental, and/or construction industries
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

The base salary range for this position is $87,000 to $171,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
