We are looking for a motivated SDVSOB Business Development Manager to join our team in a full or part-time capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and responding to public bids issued by the State of New Jersey, federal government agencies, and commercial business procurement offices. We seek someone with a strong grasp of government and commercial procurement processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bid Opportunity Identification: Monitor public bid websites, commercial procurement platforms, and other relevant sources to identify contract opportunities issued by the State of New Jersey, federal agencies, and commercial business procurement offices suitable for SDVSOB businesses.
- Proposal Preparation: Prepare and submit high-quality bids and proposals in response to identified opportunities. This includes gathering necessary information, collaborating with internal stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with all requirements.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain relationships with procurement officers, contracting officers, and key stakeholders within government agencies and commercial businesses to promote our SDVSOB business and capabilities.
- Market Research: Conduct market research to identify trends, upcoming opportunities, and potential areas for business growth within both government and commercial contracting sectors.
- Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, guidelines, and requirements related to government and commercial contracting, including those specific to SDVSOB businesses.
- Performance Tracking: Track and analyze bid submission success rates, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance our competitiveness in securing contracts.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports on bid activity, performance metrics, and Business Development efforts to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Course work in Business Administration, Marketing, or experince in a related field.
- Previous experience in government and commercial contracting, with a focus on SDVSOB businesses preferred.
- Strong understanding of state and federal government procurement processes, as well as commercial business procurement practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including web broswers and websites.
- Comfortable with remote work arrangements and able to manage time efficiently.
