Office Assistant
Helping Hand Academy has an exciting opportunity for an energetic, organized and collaborative person to join us as our School Office Assistant. You’ll work closely with the Academy Director to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. You will assist teachers in classrooms as needed. And you’ll do it in an environment with enhanced health and safety protocols. If you’re motivated by smiles and laughs from children, this could be the job for you.
The ideal candidate must have the following skills and qualities:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2+ years of previous experience in an office environment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to speak fluent English, Spanish is a plus.
- Positive attitude and eagerness to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
- Positive, strength-based, developmentally appropriate communication skills with young children
Responsibilities:
- Answer office phone, take messages and provide routine communication
- Maintain attendance records and OCFS (Office of Children and Family Services documentation , files, and immunization records for children and staff
- Respond to routine issues that may come up with children (i.e. taking a child’s temperature, calling families to inform about illness during the school day, late pick up, etc.)
- Assisting in daily office needs.
- Manage general school supply orders
- Manage and process registration and enrollment forms and contact information, schedule tours for new families, and update program waitlists as needed
- Assist with coordination and implementation of special events, including holiday celebrations and staff recognition events
- Other administrative tasks as assigned by the Director
Position Type: Part Time Day hours on a permanent basis
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
